How FastVid processes Facebook video links
FastVid first checks that the link uses a recognized media host. It then sends the public URL to the configured media gateway, which returns the title, thumbnail and formats available for that request. Direct formats can be downloaded immediately. A result marked Render needs a temporary processing step, commonly because its video and audio streams must be prepared as one file.
Every Facebook upload is different. Some posts expose several resolutions, while others return only one. Audio can be present in a direct file or require rendering for a particular quality. FastVid reports the response it receives instead of claiming that every link has Full HD, 4K or a specific format.
