Can FastVid download an expired Story?
No. FastVid cannot restore an expired or deleted Story. If the creator added it to a public Highlight, try the Highlights downloader instead; otherwise the source no longer exposes a file to save.
Can I download a Story from a private account?
Not with this Story tool. It cannot access private Stories or bypass account permissions. The private workflow requires source data from content you are authorised to view and save.
Will my account appear in the viewer list?
FastVid does not ask you to sign into Instagram for public Story links, so it does not submit your account as a viewer. The Story still has to be active and publicly available to the source when you submit the link.
Are both Story photos and videos supported?
Yes, when the source response returns the media. The result card identifies whether each item is an image or video, and the available download action follows the file returned for that Story.
Why is the Story link unavailable?
Check that the Story is still active, public, and linked from the original Instagram URL. It may have expired, been removed, become private, or temporarily stopped being available to the source. Try again while the Story is still visible on Instagram.
Do I need an Instagram account?
No login is required for active Story links FastVid can access without an account. Paste the link, choose Download, and save the image or video returned in the result card.
